LekaGape is always looking for interns and volunteers, mainly for the work in our Shelter and in the area of Fundraising and Marketing.
You should be flexible when you are working for LekaGape. Besides your daily work it might be necessary that we need your support shortly in another department – for example for the preparation of an event or the editing of our newsletter. In any case we are open for your suggestions: if you have own projects or ideas in mind, just tell us!
Our Shelter is meant to be a safe place for people in trouble, especially for abused women and children. At the moment we take mainly care about children that are not welcome or safe at their parents' place or suffer from malnutrition at home. Furthermore, women that experienced violence in their partnerships or suffer from extreme poverty get a chance to re-arrange their lives together with their children in the Shelter.
Moreover, we are preparing young children for their first school year. We are also supporting older children from grade 1 up to 6 with their homework and giving them lessons in English and Mathematics.
As an intern working at the Shelter, you are responsible for preparing and giving the lessons. Furthermore, you are arranging the daily course of the children – besides the lessons, creative ideas like beach soccer tournaments, swimming lessons or excursions are welcome.
Fundraising is a crucial part within our organization. In this area you will support our management in applying for donations and subsidies.
Furthermore it will be your task to expand the marketing of LekaGape. That means for example preparing our newsletter or updating the website and also includes the planning and accomplishment of local events.
Professionals are crucial for the work of our organization as they can help us in developing our projects and training our local staff. Currently we are urgently looking for professionals in the following areas:
