LekaGape

The Initiative Südafrika e.V. (Initiative for South Africa) is a registered non-profit organization with about 100 members from Lampoldshausen in Germany. This initiative was founded in 1998 with the aim to support LekaGape from Germany. Its key responsibilities include the collection of donations and transfer of private donations to LekaGape.

The statutory aims of the Initiative Südafrika e.V. include:

• To improve international understanding and cooperation between people in Germany and South Africa
• To provide development aid through humanitarian projects

To achieve these objectives we try to inform as much people as possible about LekaGape. We regularly organize events where we present LekaGape projects and collect donations.

Where does the Initiative get money from?

The main part comes from donations of private people, who consider our project as helpful. Besides that, we finance our work through membership fees.. Additionally we realize income from our events and activities, e.g. coffee afternoons, catering of hunting events or selling of books, South African arts, crafts and tea.

The donations we receive are only used for the projects of LekaGape in Lulekani. As there are usually very high bank charges for international money transfers we would like to ask you to contact us if you want to support us. Depending on your home country and the amount of your donation we will find the best way to transfer the money and to avoid high bank charges. The Initiative Südafrika e.V. will transfer 100% of your donations directly to LekaGape. There will be no deductions for handling and administration. The Initiative Südafrika e.V. will send you a donation receipt if needed.
